Playing Multiplayer Games via VPN : What is a VPN?

Virtual Private Networks (VPN) are generally used by companies so that their workers may access their networks remotely. Their noncommercial uses such as playing games are often overlooked.

Basically, a VPN is a private network that uses the Internet to connect users. It uses "virtual" connections routed through the host to emulate a LAN, thus allowing people to play games that would usually be played through a LAN via a VPN.

Please note that this only works if you are using Windows NT/2000/XP. The screenshots in this tutorial were taken in Windows XP.
