My Skating Career : Part One 'The Beginning'My skatingcareer part 1 I have been skateboarding for about two years now. The only problem is I didn't learn a thing in those two years. Now that is gonna change! A few weeks ago I met Cesar, he has been skating for some years now and he DID learn some tricks. Today (wednesday february 5th) We decided to go skating together for the first time in the indoor skatepark 'Het Colloseum' in Groningen. It was the first time for me in an indoor skatepark which was kinda strange for me. The weather started out pretty bad today but that wouldn't harm us cuz the skatepark was under a roof. We met on the Groningen busstation (after a busstrip on which I will give more comments in my upcoming 'Simple guide to the Dutch bussystem') and before going to 'Het Colloseum' we decided to have a nice tripple-cheeseburger at the local burgerking. After filling our bellies with some nice junkfood we stepped on busline 4 and soon stood in front of the famous skatepark. We entered the skatepark, payed the man at the door and moved upstairs to the huge skatepark. At first it all seemed pretty strange to me, I had never been in an indoor skatepark before and it was pretty big compared to the skateparks I had been before. For a small overview of the park you can visit the webpage of the colloseum. I didn't skate for about half a year because of the coldness and bad weather of the winter period, therefore my muscles where kinda stiff and my balance wasn't in order either. But we started rolling around a bit and soon Cesar was totally in his element. I had a bit more problems with the obstacles on the track, I even had problems getting over the smallest funbox! Soon more people arrived and it became a little more bussier. I was trying like hell but it looks a bit strange when a 19 year old of almost two meters length looks a bit strange when small kids all around him do the most complicated tricks while he has problems with even the easiest tricks. That's why soon I was just watching the others instead of improving my own skills. After a few hours we decided to leave again and we went back to the station. I promised Cesar to try harder the next time and we both went home again. Next time I hope I can give you some more details and maybe even some pictures of me doing some tricks on the track. So check back next time for the next part of 'My skating career'
