We flew from Manchester [Airport] to Athens in Greece where we took a coach from the airport for a short tour around Athens and then onwards to the Parthenon, on top of the Acropolis in the centre of Athens.

There are several temples on the Acropolis and sections have been carefully renovated over the years. The princethorpe group posed for a photo session and our guide showed us around and told us about the history of Athens.

After this we headed back on the coach down to the port where we registered for the cruise and boarded our ship; `Sapphire`. Later that evening we had a safety drill where we checked our life jackets and met at the muster stations. Then we got to eat! Buffet food of all types, starters, hot food and desserts.
