@Kacy James Roush - As awesome as it'd be, the game would probably make your computer implode when it tried to figure out how many Dwarves you would need to successfully take it back :P

Thanks! I may try to edit the tileset I've got to have diagonals, but the nice, clear ASCII tileset is growing on me...

Thanks!

I've got the tileset on the wiki, if you want it.

If mega-beasts were this powerful the late-game would be far more interesting... and short. (And fun.)

0:55 - It is now summer.

Very nice, I may try this once I finish my fortress...

This is made that much funnier by the pause and flash the goblin does each time it reaches the door :P

Nice!

Love the sort of angular design, looks great!

Random idea from looking at the entrance though, a ballista placed in front of (or behind, if you feel like living on the edge) the trade depot would provide some pretty serious protection against bigger enemies, although it would be over kill to use it on goblins with that kind of a range...

The blood eventually ended up coating a large portion of the walls all the way to the edge of the map, and coated the end of the brook (the end of the part I can see, anyways) almost completely.

@juice - Thanks!

The logs are, like Jurph suggested, from loose logs being on the tiles when they were mined.

@ Jurph - Thank you! I'm considering using a smaller version for the towers.

I've started a road (thanks for the reminder!). I plan to get some watchtowers along the road, probably connected to the fortress by underground tunnels, and with no other way in/out, to prevent unwanted access through the tunnels.

Thanks again, to both of you!

It would, although this fortress has gone down the tubes. I would love to have an imbedded map for future journals, how would I do that?

For some reason, I'm getting the "Ate in a Legendary Dining Room" thought already. I'm thinking it's the shear size.
