I like the map. Great idea.

I got a bit further, but it runs at 15fps and I just don't have the patience. There's too many z-levels, and I think that central spiral is driving the path finding algorithm crazy.

I still have the save, maybe when I get a new machine it'll be fast enough to pick up again.

Wow, very nice river.

I think you need an underground river or pool to trigger towercaps. If you've got one any water will trigger them.

Any chance of an upload with the river redirected? It looks like it would be awesome, but I can't quite see how it works. Do you have pressure pltes and floodgates everywhere to prevent overflow?

There's so much you can do with this. Brilliant

I like the scribbled mines. They look better than all my efficient straight lines, I'll have to copy that.

The danger of a single up/down column is that a dwarf who trips or falls at the top will fall all the way to the bottom and die.

He can fall from being hit by a goblin or by sparring, from being washed by a flood, or maybe from falling unconcious from pain at the wrong time.

I like the tower design, it's much simpler than the one I use.

Interestingly, when I organise things like this I always spend ages before getting defences or rooms built too. I'm not sure if this is a pattern.
