Crystalshrine - 204 Late Autumn by Bitzeralisis

Map Description:

Crystalshrine, Legendary Castle of Gems, in its fourth year, late autumn. Crisis: trade depot inaccessibility!? I have a road built to the edge of the map, and yet the wagons do not arrive. Perhaps that is the fault of the river? Stay tuned as Bitzeralisis builds a road south, to attempt to have wagons finally arrive at his depot.

I've suffered several losses to fish, thus prompting me to create a swimming pool in the near future. Stupid cave-ins have killed three of my (non-legendary) miners. Also, I've been ambushed twice or thrice. The most recent ambush was particularly bloody due to the fact that I had neglected to make my bridge raisable at that time. Deaths ensued.

I pose a question: can constructions be made that can be engraved? If so, how? Does it have anything to do with stone blocks? >.>

See Points of Interest for details.

Point of Interest: Mines [2]: The Deepmines

I had mined here for a while before realizing that granite contained no coal. Ah, well; I found lots of silver, some light blue stuff, and binfuls of gems. Also used as testing grounds for my legendary engravers. - Bitzeralisis

Unusual fort layout. Gives me creeps somehow.

Unusual underground or above ground? The underground layout is my design; it revolves around the z-axis rather than other directions. I did have to space out my workshops and housing a bit though.

I also just realized that my tombs are not following the layout properly. >.>

one tile of ramp by the barracks is what's choking it down to 2 tiles => no wagon access

You can download the compressed map file: 2008-12/bitzeralisis-Crystalshrine the Le-region5-204-29059.fdf-map but you will need the .NET version of SL's DF Map Compressor to convert to the .PNG image format.
