Mirrorag - 1058 Late Autumn by Markavian

Map Description:

Mirrorag, the great mountain home of many dwarves! As you enter this grand fortress you are immediately greeted by an ornate entrance hall which seems to hover over a vast pit of lava. The air bristles with heat, making the eyes of weak human's and elve's water as they press on through to the main hall.

Point of Interest: Refuse Area

An indoor refuse area for dwarves to dispose of rubbish that collects in the fortress. Not as hygeinic as an outdoor pile because of the miasma but safer then tackling goblins outside. - Markavian

Δ Access Tunnel for Floodgates
The farm to the left has been set back from the river by building an access tunnel that runs straight over the channel used to flood the farm each spring. This was one of the first constructions when the fort was started.

This easy access tunnel means that the farm does not block routes through to other areas of the fort, such as the north area. Large farms and badly positioned floodgates crippled expansion in many of my earlier forts. - Markavian
Δ Great Bronze bridge of the Chasm
This giant bridge, described as Simple sublime by residents of the fortress, protects the inner part of the fortress from chasm creatures and fire imps. It can be raised locking shut.

The nearby bedrooms are for metalsmiths so that they can live closer to the fissure. - Markavian
Δ Magma Entry Hall
A grand entry hall where a thin bridge provides access over bubbling lava. - Markavian
Δ Main Meeting Hall
The main meeting hall is on the central path into the fortress marking a cross-roads between the shopping and office districts and the housing to the north. - Markavian

Δ Statue Garden
A place for dwarves to relax after a hard day out. This room features one of the first Green glass windows produced at the fortress, one of several being produced to replace ore veins in the area. - Markavian
Δ Twin Aqueducts
Two aqueducts for transporting lava and water over the chasm. Mirrored with a similar system at the north of the map. - Markavian
Δ Twin Bridges of the River
Also made of bronze, these twin bridges lock either side of the main through-fare closed stopping creatures from entering from the river area. Not terribly effective, but an effective way of keeping dwarves happy as they pass through this area daily. - Markavian
