Floorwhip - 205 Mid Autumn by Mister Six

Map Description:

Significant expansion to Floorwhip has taken place following the arrival of a Baron (plus his wife, a hammerer, and a tax collector) in an immigrant wave. That same immigrant wave bumped up the population to immediately upgrade our area to a County and the Baron to a Count.

The Count's first production request was for a single adamantine item. Whee. At first I was content to sit it out, improving the jail a bit to prepare for what would surely be a jail-happy count.

But after a while I decided to go ahead and indulge the guy. I knew from site selection that there was adamantine in the northeast corner, so I set out on some exploratory digging.

But after a while I decided to just go ahead and reveal (and then revert to an unrevealed save). So I poked out four adamantine rocks which hopefully will be enough for a while.

The fort's first mood was a stonecrafter, and so for several years he's been cranking out our main trade goods as fast as possible. Right before this map was exported, I traded about a hundred thousand dwarfbux's worth to the dwarven caravan in return for some mighty fine armor, food, and other materials.

Before that trade, but with the caravan already at the trading post, a goblin siege took place. Between Floorwhip's marksdwarves stationed at the fortified archery walls, and the caravan's heavily armed guards, the three or so goblin squads weren't able to inflict a single casualty, and quite of few of their troops were killed before they fled.

Point of Interest: Main gate

Featuring drawbridge, cage traps, and (above) fortifications for marksdwarves. - Mister Six
