Woundspeak - 112 Late Autumn by Dakira

Map Description:

Woundspeak: The city of glass and basalt.

The city was not lost and things have officially settled down now. For a time there were only three active citizens making coffins and taking care of the injured. After a season or two some brave immigrants decided to make land fall on this island aiding in the recovery process. Things are cleaned up, buildings restored, and the infernal contraption (fountain) is finally finished. I swear that thing is cursed.

But now I know why this city is called Woundspeak, there are so many to speak of.

Current Population: 27

Point of Interest: Infernal Contraption (Fountain)

I swear this is thing is a curse on the city.
When I tried to first built it, it mysteriously didn't work.
When I tried to change it, it caused the worst (and only) riots the city has known.
When I tired to reactivate it manually, a pump operator was pulled into the system and killed.
When I was adding onto it, water made it's way up four inactive pumps.
So far it only works in threes. The pressure plates control the water flow. As the water reaches six on the top level of the cistern, gates open and water pressure creates a fountain. After three times of this the pressure plates just refuse to function and the entire system shut down. It was refitted with new plates only to have the same thing happen.
To counter act this, a modification was made to the fountain allowing it to work continuously. After removing some pumps, adding dividers, placing wind mills, and a channel going over a noble's home; The fountain now works and I hope to never mess with it again. - Dakira

Are those green glass buildings?

Yep! Anything green is green glass.

You should make some ships for the dock. Pirate ships

In room 306, that was the tax collector's office. So i'm going to say he was brutally murdered.

Wow, quite a nice tantrum spiral (and fort)!

Thanks! everything seems to have calmed down now. over 100 died in less than a season and immigrants are taking detours around the island. They think it's cursed, and right now I don't blame them, heheh.

Wow.. that's quite an awesome story.

If you reclaim it, possessions will take on a whole new level of meaning, huh?

You have to write a story about this fort!

Please. Do it on the forums!

Well then I'll have to get to that story sometime. If you'd like to read one of my older stories on the forums, check out "The legend of the Cursed River".

I forgot to add this in during upload, but a pump operator died while operating a pump. He suddenly "Collided with an Object", so I think he caught his foot and was dragged into the pump.

Awwwww, this is gone? =(

It's quite a beautiful city. Incredibly well-made. Well done.

Great fortress, one of my old favorites when I lurked the site. I know now what a mirthless pain it is to create things like this, so kudos on finishing this awesome fortress.
