I did some massive reconstruction to prepare for sieges...
The wildlife respawn has dropped dramatically and to compensate I have become a much large plant producer.
(and I can't get rid of those stinkin' lye makers so easily)
(Funny story, my sheriff was a lyemaker turned hunter who lived through hunting- has over 80 kills - including 8 fire geckos - fallout's land carp. he is a champion marksman and has a high hammer skill) - Zironic

I like the deep and wide shafts that you've dug through the layers, and the narrow tunnels leading down... feels like a proper dwarven mine.

Interesting complex you have here, I'd like to see the rest of your outdoor area get more built up. Whats your plans with the lava on the surface?

Well, I was playing, and I looked at the little valley, and I was a little bored, and had some spare time - so I walled it off and flooded it with magma. I am eventually going to pipe it into either an above ground refinery or some sort of magma fall.
As for the complex. I am going to turn that vacate shell into a bar/slums with the second story being a separate barracks bedroom, and then building floors upon that.

A dwarven mine would probably be an area, seperate from the main fort, shaped like a Gulag, a type of strip mine.
