Hell of Nails is the name of this fortress, because the name I wanted, Hell of Screws was not possible. The hell of screws is where all the extra screws from various furniture projects go. The Hell of screws is usually located in the garage. Hell of nails is located on the edge of the Desert of Heat.

About your windmill... It seems like it's hooked up okay. If you get information about it (or the gears) using 'q', does it tell you how much power is needed and available?
It's possible you have no wind here. See http://www.dwarffortresswiki.net/index.php/Windmill section "When it works". I don't know if there's a way to test for wind aside from actually building the windmill.
