This is an adventurer fortress I started not too long ago. After reading about a group of people who decided that they would climb random mountains with the sole reason being that they were there, I decided to create a reason for my adventurers to climb mountains.
Savantspears is a 16x16 map, all mountain thanks to the embark anywhere utility. As this is just a fort for my messing around in, I used Cheat O Matic to give me what amounted to unlimited points. I used Dwarf Companion to kill all wild animals so I could get a half-decent speed. I've also used Companion to bump up skills a bit so I could get done quicker.
This is only four levels of the fort. There is quite a bit of space between the housing and the pond/river level. If I were to include it all, I would be unable to upload it. Plus, the images were close to 4 GB.
Hello, RSI. I thought a checkerboard pattern would look different, so I decided to try it. It has the advantage of having less stone mined while not hampering movement. - Mephisto

You can download the compressed map file:
2008-08/mephisto-Savantspears-region5-303-30882.fdf-map
but you will need the .NET version of
SL's DF Map Compressor
to convert to the .PNG image format.

That's... large. *thinks* I wonder how a three dimensional fractal would compare (if such things exist, I'm sure they do!)
