After learning the massive tree farm in Ringcloister was built in vain (there's apparently a hard limit of 200 growing tower-caps), I abandoned the fort permanently. So I tossed the massive farm idea aside and started something else. I kept a few ideas, like the outdoor wall and automatic irrigation system. And yes, I'm still a no-good cheater. :P
I present to you: Doorholes.
The image from the first year is cut short since I hadn't yet discovered the cave river, so I discarded it. I neglected to save during the next two years, so those are lost. However, I did record the beginning and end of the fourth year.
As in Ringcloister, I've built an underground forest with automagic irrigation. Note that cheating those irrigation pillars in did not trigger the discovery event for the cave river. I discovered the river when I bridged the waterfalls in my dining room so I could smooth the walls behind them. - Anxiety

D'oh! By not discovering the cave river I meant not discovering the chasm.

Whoa, is that rewall you used to get the outside walls? The end result looks nice. You can change ponds into rivers (O_o)? The numerous errors could be the "terraforming", yes, but reclaiming might solve it as you suggested. It's absolutely amazing though, even if you can't see past the chasm...
