Every smoothed wall and floor you see is a construction.
Every construction is made of blocks.
Every block was made from a stone that was dumped into a garbage pile next to a mason shop.
Edit - On this wall is a image of a fortress and hands. The hands are building the fortress. The hands are making a plaintive gesture. The hands are curled in a fetal position.
At year 10, i will enable seiges.

Because my eyes would bleed otherwise in the low-constrast conditions. (it was nearly impossible to tell the difference between light gray and white in the map export screen, seriously) and did in fact, lose focus a few times.
( 1053 Mid Summer → onwards )
Many of the fortifications here point inwards, should the enemy breach the speared gate room.
Furthermore, the entrances to this area are protected by those fortifications, so that the enemy will always be fired upon in their attempt to enter.
The sloped roof of the dining hall is also present. - Mechanoid

This is brilliant. I love the barriers to entry (firewalls and things), the spiral staircase with windows, and the army of peasants being worked without sleep or food.

The staircase was pure awesome! Also this looks like a truly grand fort.
