The first fortress I've built that I'm really proud of: Letterchasm is truly a labor of love. Or, maybe booze. Whatever.
Around the time I finally got around to building the forges, we had already captured a full ambush force of goblins, as well as Orinur, the dreaded cave swallow who had ambushed the original mayor as he went to retrieve some deer fat, or something, and pushed him in a little pond. The mayor died, and the Cave Swallow tried to go on a rampage. The cave swallow got caught in our cage traps, and I was unsure how to get rid of him and the goblins. I concluded that they would fight to the death. I built this place for that purpose, and it served it well. The cave swallow took out 3 goblins and then I opened the grates, which lead down to lava, and all but one died. Then, I stationed my marksmen above to kill the last goblin. All in all, great success. - Antipov

Wow, the prison/prison thing is kind of morbid. The ultimate sentence: "Here, since you think screwing up is fun, here, get reacquainted with your old buddies and think your choices over!"
I shudder

clifftut, well visulised, I think it needs a side room with windows/fortifications looking through where remains and body parts get stored before burial... for extra creepiness. 3:
