Tradesoared - 1065 Mid Spring by Quift

Map Description:

Same fortress, a few years later. I have built a new, and architecturally grander entrance. its now a three storey hallway leading directly to the heart of the fortress. The Arena is also finished and furnished with a pet dragon. The waterworks have been finished allowing an indoor waterfall in the finalized throne room (very satisfied with it btw). also and indoor bath, safety plug, replica of the Constantinopel Hippodrome and a military restructuring.

Current projects are limited to getting rid of of goblin clothes and armor. and building a temple to god. haven't quite decided which one yet since my world is too old to have some actual gods around.

My main goal right now is to lower the total amount of items on the map. old tattered clothing, rock mugs, narrow silk socks. The only sucess so far is the rock cleanup operation. I have some quarry operations to get obsidian and limestone. otherwise no stone lying around. golbin underwear FUCKING EVERYWERE!!!

For a walkthough of the fort economy and layout check out the older map.

Point of Interest: The hippodrome

Originally built as a cathedral I got the idea that I wanted all the goblins to be slaughters in the same plces to ease hauling. unfortunatly they don't get attracted by the trade depot alone, so i have to station champion inside etc. quite messy and no realy gain. made entirely from smooth obsidian blocks, except the tricolor in the middle.

South the old City of the dead mausolem and I have started to carve out a temple underneath the with and blue structure. will be a huge, high room with engraved pillars and light falling down from small holes above on statues of some sort inside. Maybe desingated as pits, with spikes instead...

The huge stockpile is for finished goods, cloth, silk and leather of standard quality. This cathes most goblin wear so that tey can be dumped in the magma dump room on the far left. To the east there is one of the watchtowers, I have one here, one southeast of this one, one to the west and I'm currently building one on the far south. This protects from ambushes, thives and snatchers.

The catapults serve no other purpose than getting rid of all excess stone. I'm striving for a very neat and clean fort and would have it, if only those goblins left me alone. - Quift

I see you're still in the habit of making old-school cave-in proof rooms :)

That's just future proofing, right.. for when Toady puts cavein's back in and everyone's forts fall apart.
