Goatcaves - 55 Early Spring by Salmeuk

Map Description:

All good things must come to an end, though thankfully this particular good thing has yet to do so. Sitting pretty at 59 dwarves, Goatcaves lumbers aimlessly towards some obfuscated goal, or whatever. The newly established Gemguard tirelessly patrol the vault, waiting for the foretold end of days when all the goblins of this land march forth and seek the slaughter of innocents. Or at least a stray Kobold or two.

Point of Interest: Tomb of the Goatmaster

Only the most prized member of our fortress could expect to receive such a lavish tomb. The door in the back protects an engraving of the Goatmaster's deity. - Salmeuk

Could be a potentially useful crossbow tower, right now it just looks interesting. Made from lead and green glass. - Salmeuk

Remember that giant teal snake that attacked us a few years back? Well, the last overseer managed to cave in it's skull with a, well, a cave in you see. What you see here is the crushed cranium-bone of the legendary beast! Set upon a silvered post near the entrance, the gigantic skull strikes fear into all that pass. - Salmeuk

Each workshop is attached to a pile of corresponding stone, so you can just set a task on repeat and get a bunch of specifically colored products. - Salmeuk

As our most royal of nobles, Goatmaster has been getting pretty needy as of late. I believe, even with platinum and gold lining these walls, he still demands more luxurious goods. - Salmeuk
Δ 171. Trapped Entrance
A second entrance was dug last year, and we finished trapping it some months ago. Ideally, should the goblins besiege these hills, we can let them in through this backdoor and capture / kill as many as possible before the real fighting. - Salmeuk

My ultimate goal is to fill this room with priceless artifacts, shining instruments of gold and silver, and huge, glittering gems. - Salmeuk

Δ 22. Cavern Farming, Under Construction
Right now it takes forever for dwarves to walk down here and use the magma forges. Ideally, I would burrow some furnace operators and farmers down here and set up a sort of outpost. It's taking forever, but I finally finished the tough part of getting water to go where I wanted it. - Salmeuk

Two z-levels below sit some magma forges.
