  Along with more room for trees to grow, a section of the plot near the surface is used for food growth - in the form of plants and pigs. There's a puppy mill on this level too, to serve as distractions to the various things that want to kill us here. - Fivegears

  There wasn't a whole lot of forest to choose from outside, which is just as well - the citizens of Breakfastclub aren't fans of the outdoors anyhow. When we breached the cavern level, we excavated a portion of the hill to provide room for the tower-caps and such to grow. - Fivegears

  When the trip down to the lower levels stalled, the waves of migrants did not. A rush to create housing for all the new citizens effectively sectioned off an area East of the dining hall as cramped apartments. - Fivegears

  We discovered the magma pool fairly early, and the idea was to move down to that area as soon as possible. Delay after delay left one room - which was simply excavated for stone to complete the roof - to become the main workshop area. - Fivegears
