Bloodaxe - 226 Early Spring by Itnetlolor

Second official update:
More developments have been established, and a bit more planning has been done. Right now, we're dedicated to working on security, but in the process, we found an aquifer higher than usual (pressure's a hell of a thing), and have a good idea of what to do once the magma junction is unplugged.

Point of Interest: 4- Forges are Nearly Forged + Junction

Obsidian is cleared, but not the remaining gems. To ensure safety, we're replacing the holes formed with newly crafted obsidian blocks.

Lower portion of the junction leads to the obsidian farms. Upper one may be used for purposes aboveground. Maybe installing an obsidian block inside the Bloodaxe. Not absolutely certain of the logistics of that yet. - Itnetlolor

Δ 65. 1- New Tanning and Leather Shop
We've established a means of processing excess animals, and turning them into something useful. The craft shop nearby is dedicated to bone processing. - Itnetlolor
Δ 65. 2- Sand and Clay Collection Zones
To supply the furnaces up the hall and atop the mountain, we have these 2 standard furnaces (no power) set to mass-produce clay and sand necessary for production for the glass and earthenware industries. - Itnetlolor
Δ 65. 3- Things Look Much Cleaner
It's not absolutely clean, but it definitely looks more pleasing to the eye. This helps clean out the excess from newly developed zones and otherwise. Especially helpful with the forges up above. - Itnetlolor
65. S-- Supplies are Dropped Off

Here we are, our new home. It seems like this is a good spot to leave our supply cart, so we can survey and work with our surroundings. - Itnetlolor
Δ 63. 5- Aquifer Found (Well/Fishing Hole)
A small line of dirt for a decent depth makes up this unusual aquifer. I installed a watering hole here, which also seems to stock up on fish from time to time. No need to risk my fishermen's necks with the river anymore.

This means now I know where to place my new residential district and dining hall. - Itnetlolor
Δ 63. 6- Planned Obsidian Farm
Based this off the Wiki's blueprints:

Magma comes from below, via Junction-M-S from above.

Access and empty is present level, and the water drop is from above. This design exploits the nearby aquifer to fill and empty water. I added de-pressurization for both the water (falls back into the aquifer after de-pressure) and the magma, as a safety measure, just in case magma pressures from the fall. The nearby room attached to where the pump would lie will contain the obsidian that would be farmed. Naturally, the magma will be contained by magma-proof systems.

For soldier training, or anti-laziness (and secondary safety), I will have the water pumps be manually operated by a team of 2 dwarves. - Itnetlolor
Δ 59. 8- South-West Security Checkpoint (Planned)
We've done a basic lockdown of the area, but we have yet to carve it out. Once the rest of the perimeter is setup, this will be the only other access point into our project site.

War Dogs will be set in the alcoves in the intruder gauntlet, just in case any master-thieves decide to make their way through. Just before the exit of the wagon path, we'll have a decoy depot at the ready, just in case we lock anyone out from the fortress. As added precaution, We'll have a drop-pit set -25z to ensure anything and everything dropped down will be absolutely dead, just in case they take more than what our traps can deliver. - Itnetlolor
Δ 52. 7- South Perimeter Secured
As far as we can claim, it's secured. It'll be final when we merge the river with it. West Perimeter is in the works and East and North Perimeters have been marked for carving. In case of wildlife, we've cut short the South Perimeter's carving, but smoothed it down to the South-West gateway; but no further than that, just in case. The ditch should slow down intruders a tad. - Itnetlolor
