The main entrance way is LITTERED with the bodies of the FOOL goblins and kobolds who dared enter Delethurvad.
'Course, none of them made it in in the past 4 years, partly due to the 4 squads of almost completely legendary axedwarves. To prevent cave adaptation (hopefully), their barracks were exposed to the sun and then roofed over.
Steel bridges and statues help to obscure line of sight for any invading archers. - jonanlsh

I like what's on the bottom of the Grand Stairway - A Grand Granary and the thick-walled chambers.
