Thundergoats, a lakeside mountain fortress. Home to forty childless dwarves who have so far barely managed to put up a wall and moat after 3 sieges and a handful of assorted tragic deaths.
The first layer of the cavern that I found (which is layer 3) by digging up from beneath it.
The corpse of a forgotten beast, a flying Tyrannosaur that I crushed with a falling ceiling trap while it chased a puppy, lays broken near the palisade. The area is still forbidden because the creature's fire breath ignited the mushroom grass and set the entire underground on fire...
The puppy didn't survive, but his sacrifices will be memorialized in the Barrow of Ancestors. - Noble Digger

Here's the wagon landing and inner fortress yard. Dogs on leashes keep the kobolds out. The four staircases in the corners lead down into the fort.
Refuse is stored outside the inner wall along with most of the cages and blocks. - Noble Digger
