Map Description:

A relatively simple, non-fancy fortress. Linked from the rate your fortress thread.

I am not playing as dwarves, the fortress residents are represented with the letter D.

Point of Interest: The sacrificial pit

This was origonally a marble quarry, I eventually decided to turn a corner into an airlocked sacrificial pit when the rabbit population began to get a little out of control.

One z level down there are many rabbits. Disappointingly the forgotten beast in that cavern has not yet emerged to feast, instead opting to pollute cavern water with lines of extract. One z level above is a drop hatch designed to feed prisoners into the system as well. - Greiger

¶ 50. Main Workshop level
The main Workshop level.

To the southwest a custom workshop can be seen between the jewelers and siege workshops. It is an alchemy workshop. It can convert raw adamantine into a couple chunks of iron, silver, gold, or flux ore with a slight risk or a mostly fatal explosion. - Greiger
Δ 49. The living level
The main level of the fortress where folks spend most of their time.

The trade depot is located 1 z level down, in the center, the hospital is Southeast of center, Dining hall is Southwest, the small meeting hall is Northwest, and the dorms are Northeast. Also visible is the Wells and jail to the far north, Tombs to the far South, and the main meeting hall to the east. - Greiger
Δ 45. The ore Express
The top of the ore express.

Although empty in this picture this is a minecart track that goes strait to the magma forge level. It works extremely fast, taking ore (and a dwarf rider) from here to the magma forge level in a little under a second at 50 FPS.

Although restricted for travel, [s]unfortunate[/s] animal strikes are common among pets of metalworkers. - Greiger
Δ 38. Stockpile Level
The main stockpiles.

While not the most efficient location, the area was slated for excavation to keep the surface fortress made of the correct materiel. I just decided I might as well use the space for stockpiles. - Greiger
