Kìrarishlum "Rightnut" - 1058 Mid Winter by Chthon

Map Description:

Well, I've gotten a few more houses up, my stone stockpile looks much better, and I have one of my minor entry roads finished. I still have about 15 houses left to build before I start on my wall, as well as my smelting operations. That part could take a while.

Point of Interest: Brook Entryway

( 1058 Mid Winter → onwards )

This is my brook entryway. The other route is going to be closed off by my wall. I am building some grates to act as a portcullis for when sieges come. - Chthon

The HTML5 map viewer is currently in Alpha mode - I'm actively trying to develop new functionality.

There should be many very obvious problems with the viewer; please check the Issues page to notify or comment on the most egregious problems to help me prioritise. The most common will be Loading... with an error in the browser developer tools console. e.g. RangeError: Offset is outside the bounds of the DataView. Feel free to report a problem with a link to the problematic map or point of interest.

Looks good, going for dwarf town rather then dwarf fortress?

I like this Dwarf town.

Windows aren't made specifically by any job. You make windows manually out of 3 cut glass or gems. Because cut gems work, my jewelers can do the job in the absence of sand.

Well well well, looking good. You do realise traders and seigers can walk straight across brooks unless you mine out the surface? The town seems to be forming well, and the dwarves look busy. I would be concentrating on defences much more then you seem to have done.

Little secret. Since I've limited population (to 24 actually, but I'm at 43 due to babies) I turned off seiges for the time being. My goal is to get walls up and then turn on population and sieges at once. It's kinda hard to fight off 90+ goblins when you only have a handful of dwarves.

Also, I will be installing gates over the river entrances. I can build vertical grates there :)

Consider caging your livestock. It'll save FPS that you can spend on more dwarves and reduce the clutter in the meeting area.

It's a good thought actually, kinda getting sick of my inn being full of horses, the dogs go free however. That's just how it's gotta be ;)

Chton, fair enough, no point having seigers if you're not ready for them ;) ... that's why we asked for the option to disable them. Still, its fun to have a few skirmishes now and again.
