Mudposts - 328 Late Spring by _nil_

Map Description:

The dwarves of Mudpost guard a remote mountain pass. In their isolation, they've come to embrace a more... ecentric philosophy, wherein the earth is so sacred it cannot be profaned with a pick (so long as you don't count the obsidian deposits created by the defense systems). Instead, the dwarves of Mudposts have struck the sky.

Current population: 290
Total stoneware blocks: 25,905
Average FPS: 30 (no digging/little stone seems to help a lot!)

Point of Interest: Volcano

( 325 Early Spring → 350 Early Spring )

The HTML5 map viewer is currently in Alpha mode - I'm actively trying to develop new functionality.

There should be many very obvious problems with the viewer; please check the Issues page to notify or comment on the most egregious problems to help me prioritise. The most common will be Loading... with an error in the browser developer tools console. e.g. RangeError: Offset is outside the bounds of the DataView. Feel free to report a problem with a link to the problematic map or point of interest.

Whoa!
What a dwarven building!
How many time have it taken so far?

Game time? About 26 years. Real time...? I'd rather not think about it!

Do you plan making big water/lava falls?

Submitted by: _nil_ - 2011-05-28 to 328 Late Spring

Well, there are hatches semi-strategically placed throughout the lava and water systems to use against invaders... beyond that, not necessarily. I'm trying to get as high a population as possible while keeping FPS managable so I've tried to avoid permanent flows. The next projects on the docket is a lavish new tower for the (as of yet unarrived) king and a well timed string of retracting bridges to provide a quick, safe, one-trip to the ground for melee troops.

You can download the compressed map file: 2011-05/_nil_-Mudposts-MUDSTILT-328-9106.fdf-map but you will need the .NET version of SL's DF Map Compressor to convert to the .PNG image format.
