• Δ 52. Windmill farm
  Power is generated here and sent below ground to power the water and magma pump stacks. - hyndis
• Δ 49. Gatehouse
  This is the only way onto the map. Raised drawbridges encircle the entire map, meaning the tiles in front of the gatehouse are the only places any visitors can spawn. All caravans, diplomats, and attackers can only appear right in front of the military.
  A thick, two layer high cast ice wall surrounds the keep within the raised drawbridges, and there are rock towers on each corner just within the walls. - hyndis

  Above ground keep guarding the entrance to the fortress, made entirely out of cast ice. - hyndis
• Δ 47. Tree farm
  This was a soil layer that was mined out. In 31.25 soil doesn't need to be muddy for moss to grow, and then shortly after plants will begin to grow. The haul from clearcutting the level is immense, easily several thousand logs. - hyndis
• Δ 45. Raw materials storage
  Wood, bones, stone, and food overflow is on this level. On this level is the only entrance to the fortress, guarded with a single line of traps. - hyndis
• Δ 41. Clay stockpile
  Used for the magma kilns below. - hyndis
• Δ 41. Masterworks stockpile
  The highest quality weapons, armor, and finished goods are kept here. They are repeatedly decorated with every manner of metal, gem, and bone, such that they are immensely valuable. Its not uncommon for a single item to have a full page of decoration. - hyndis
• Δ 40. Classrooms
  Custom workshop with custom reactions to allow dwarves to train up on various skills. Dwarves learn some basics with regards to swimming, shield using, and dodging. Elite dwarves further learn about metal working, healthcare, and mechanics, but it takes about 15 in game years for an elite dwarf to complete all of his education to be a productive member of the fortress. - hyndis
• Δ 40. Corpse and refuse stockpile
  Corpses are stored here temporarily for either butchery or burial. Other body parts, like stray noses and ears, also tend to accumulate here. Every once in a while everything is ordered to be dumped to prevent overflow. - hyndis
• Δ 40. Dining Hall
  Tables, chairs, and booze is stored here. A well is in the room in case of tragic booze shortages. - hyndis
• Δ 40. Duke's Suite
  The duke and his family reside here. The duke's wife does daily, day to day fortress operations such as managing orders and conducting trade. - hyndis
• Δ 40. Farms
  A surprisingly small farm is needed to sustain the fortress. The crops are primarily used for booze. Dwarves subsist almost entirely on meat from sieges. I've modded civ ethics so that goblins and elves can be butchered.
  There are currently ~38,000 prepared meals in the stockpiles even though I give away huge piles of them for trade. - hyndis
• ¶ 40. Great Hall
  Main gathering point of the fortress. - hyndis
• Δ 40. Hospital
  The room also functions as overflowing for dwarves without their own room. There are approximately 225 bedrooms in the fortress, but about 375 dwarves, so some dwarves don't have private bedrooms. Vacancies in the existing bedrooms periodically open from delving into the underworld. - hyndis
• Δ 40. King's Suite
  The dwarven king and his family reside in these rooms. - hyndis
• Δ 40. Quantum Stockpiler
  Catapults throw rocks against the wall. They fall down into the pit below, undamaged. The pit below is a rock stockpile. Over time all rocks will be gathered up into the pit, automatically quantum stockpiled. Also trains up siege engineers. - hyndis

• Δ 39. Powertrain gear junction
  Power from the windmill farm on the surface can be diverted to pumping water or magma. The windmill farm is not big enough to power both stacks at the same time. - hyndis
• Δ 38. Storage level
  Food and materials for production are stored here. The empty room in the middle was for a poultry farm. - hyndis
• Δ 37. Magma Sterilization Device
  This lever empties the magma reservoir into the below ground gatehouse, sterilizing it in case of invasion. The magma reservoir can be refilled by diverting power from the water pump stack to the magma pump stack. - hyndis
• Δ 34. Containment walls
  The area around the underground lake is sealed off with bricks to avoid drownings in the water. - hyndis
• Δ 34. Old generators
  These DWR's are no longer in use. They were too FPS hungry. The DWR's are in place but inactive and no longer hooked up to anything. - hyndis
• Δ 34. Underground gatehouse
  An artifact platinum grate is bait for building destroyers. Marksdwarves can be positioned to shoot at any creatures attacking it. Iron spikes can be activated with the lever. The entire thing can also be sealed and flooded with magma. - hyndis
• Δ 32. Magma overflow
  The gatehouse can be drained through this spillway after being filled with magma to dispose of FB's. - hyndis
• Δ 21. Brick stockpile
  Staging point of bricks for my megaproject in the underworld.
  Used to be the bottom of a splatter pit, now unused. - hyndis
• Δ 21. Magma stack drainage
  The entire magma stack can be drained off the side of the map should the magma stack need maintenance. - hyndis
• Δ 21. Siege engine emplacements
  Since removed after the demon siege. An immense amount of ammunition was used to defeat the demon onslaught. The ammunition is still in place. - hyndis
• Δ 21. Tombs
  The honored dead rest in masterwork iron coffins. - hyndis
• Δ 21. Underworld entrance
  Building destroyers, such as demons, cannot destroy a building unless they're on the same level as it. So long as the hatch is locked and sealed they cannot attack it. The instant the hatch is unlocked the demon hordes destroyed it. A hatch is an easy and convenient way to seal off the underworld, so long as it remains locked. - hyndis
• Δ 4. Glowing pit
  Glowing pits are a major hazard. The demons themselves are dangerous enough, but they're prone to knocked dwarves into the glowing pits. The bricks in the stockpile above are used to brick off the pit, so that no one can fall into it. - hyndis
• Δ 4. Underworld
  Base of the stairway to the underworld, made out of bricks. The stairway is sealed up so it is protected from demons, of which almost all of them can fly at will. - hyndis
