Earthringed - 218 Early Spring by Drone

Map Description:

the Sixth year of GLORIOUS EARTHRINGED. I Drained the lake again, due to a forgotten beast breaking into it and wiping out all the floodgates. I also put a well in the hospital since I had time to dig it out. Built what I hope should be the last of the housing. 10 days before the end of the year, a siege turned up, and was defeated with 2 casualties (a marksdwarf and a hammerdwarf) as well as numerous (mainly leg) Injuries. Farming has stopped for the moment since I keep running out of barrels and can't brew booze fast enough. I intend to let supplies dwindle to about 500 prepared food before starting farming again.

Point of Interest: Expanded Cemetary 2.0

Not all of those coffins are full but I thought I'd expand it to the other side of the lake as well since I have the room now. Also to the right of this is where the HALL OF CHAMPIONS is gonna be built, which will be walled and floored entirely with iron blocks since iron is pretty common on this map. - Drone

¶ 47. Siege
This is the ending of the siege that just occured. a squad of axe, bow and sword goblins were wiped out, as well as two elite bowgoblins and a mace lord. Hopefully this should mean I'll get no more of those horrible elite bowgoblins in the next sieges. - Drone
Δ 38. Second story (again)
I marked all this as a high traffic zone, becuase dwarfs kept getting confused and agitated by having to move on ground level, and it was getting annoying, especially when it was delaying my military. ESsentially this means that dwarves will take the high road for long distances and the low roads for shorter ones, which is fine by me. - Drone
Δ 37. Artifact storage
one of my useless leatherworkers got a fey mood and built a peahen leather helm studded with all kinds of rubbish. However I don't want people using it since leather is terrible, so I made an artifact vault to keep an eye on everything. Theres also a artifact crossbow, but I assigned it to my legendary marksdwarf so he pretty much can never miss. - Drone

Δ 37. Expanded Statue garden
I knocked it through to the bunker on the left of it. Essentially since I'd walled off the other side of the lake and built roads over it having a bunker specifically to shoot anything scrambling through it was somewhat pointless. - Drone
Δ 37. Mail shirts!
apparantly the dead hammerdwarf has a mail shirt on that was of marginally better quality than someone elses, resulting a stampede of dwarves trying to trade up the ranks of mail shirt ownership to get a masterwork set. - Drone
Δ 37. Masterwork Steel statue
One of my master smiths made this lovely statue of a elf being disembowelled by a dragon. I don't particularly like or hate the elves but it's only a matter of time since they siege me since their caravans get killed half the time by goblin ambushes. - Drone

ping the muscle, fracturing the skull and pushing the skull into the brain! (all through a masterwork steel helm). This is why I hate goblin archers. They only have to be lucky once to kill an armour plated dwarf, whereas my dwarves have to be lucky every single time. - Drone

This doesn't work at all, dwarves won't use it to train regardless of the setup I try. Luckily, - Drone
Δ 35. Forgotten beast break-in
a Forgotten beast smashed up the floodgate for the lake drainage and broke in to my fort that way. Luckily it was merely a furred snake or something with a poisonous sting which did nothing but cause minor sluggishness for a couple of minutes. Hammerdwarves beat it to death and a I know have a stack of 410 forgotten beast meat somewhere. - Drone
Δ 22. Archery Range 2.0
This is a humanoid made of basalt (not a horse made of vomit) with a trunk. As such it seems to be unkillable to iron bolts so I set my marksdwarves to shoot the hell out of it every now and then for training.

edit: as of now it has close to 150 iron bolts stuck in it and crawls along the floor using what I assume is it's trunk since its arms and legs are broken completely. - Drone
