Earthringed - 215 Early Spring by Drone

Map Description:

The third year of GLORIOUS EARTHRINGED. After numerous ambushes and a siege in the last year, I finally got my magma piston dropped and started utilising the (pitiful) amount of magma I drew up. It's enough for 9 forges but it's not really in the order or layout I'd like them to be in.

Point of Interest: Expanded Farms

Turns out you can nuke shrubs and tree saplings and moss and the like by building floors over em. When you rip the floors out it leaves furrowed soil behind, which you can then plant on. Abused this to expand my farms since I was slowly running out of supplies and sieges are likely to prevent much more trading from occuring. - Drone

Δ 48. Expanded Wall
Turns out goblins standing on the hills nearby can shoot into the compound, which in one way is good because it alerted me to an ambush when the goblins had to absolutely, positively, kill that turkey chick right this second. However, if I need to stage forces in it, tis a big of a liability, so I'm heightening the wall a bit. - Drone

I don't know but all the hives are filled with glorious bees. Don't seem to have much honey though, but I have some royal jelly so I guess it's working?? - Drone

These dwarves don't have armour yet and are relying on sheer nerve, audacity and BALLS OF STEEL to defeat the goblin ambushes and sieges that have arrived so far. This is made even more badass when you realise that most of the ambushes and sieges I've had so far have been predominantly bow or crossbow goblins. - Drone

Expanded graveyard. about 1/4 of these are filled, mainly with the victims of the migration day massacre. Intended to build a monument, lest we forget. But I forgot about it. - Drone

The town of Earthringed is getting pretty big. I need more dwarven housing but this shouldn't be too much of a problem since I've finally got around to opening up the second level of the city. This will involve lots of channeling to make it look badass enough. - Drone

My resting, unconscious, Horrifically pained, Crippled and tantruming Militia captain. Hopefully He'll recover but I don't think it's possible to heal any spinal injuries at all sadly. - Drone
¶ 33. Magma!!
The Magma piston worked flawlessly. I did a scanover of every level before dropping it and luckily noticed that I'd forgotten to construct a wall that would otherwise have flooded parts of my fortress ankle deep in magma. Woop. - Drone
