Spiralsling - 429 Early Spring by Drone

Map Description:

This is actually only a year after the previous map (I forgot the year I started in, oops). My dwarves nearly starved since I'd forgotten that I wasn't going to be penetrating the caverns straight away (like I normally do) and hence would have no mud access. I had to get my dwarves to gather plants then grow the seeds on the surface farm. This appears to be working pretty well! A lot of rooms are done, but housing still needs to be set up.

Point of Interest: Fort

The HTML5 map viewer is currently in Alpha mode - I'm actively trying to develop new functionality.

I hope your starting to build some defenses, cause at the moment your fortress looks easier to penetrate than your MOM lolololol (probably doesn't have as many immigrants visiting though)

Δ 78. Dormitory
I wanted to get the fort somewhat done before I started making housing, so I just made a simple dorm for my dorfs. I don't think they actually mind anyway. - Drone

Offices for my bookkeeper, Manager and so on. Possibly also some noble rooms but I doubt it because those snooty nobles would never accept rooms as reasonably sized as this. - Drone

It swings between growing wild strawberies and whip vines. Whip wine is worth quite a bit as a drink, so it keeps my dwarves marginally happier. Wild strawberries are currently my dwarves staple food since they were got picked the most during the near-starvation herbalist months. - Drone

Nobody knows this, but if you assault Spiralsing from the north, you'll walk right in. - ClsfdKidd

I haven't yet decided what layout I want in this fort, but so far this works pretty well. These were built as temporary measures for beds and doors and the like. - Drone
Δ 77. Dead puppy
When it popped up with "*name* has been suffocated!" I was like "damnit did a giant eagle kill everyone" and then realised it was a puppy that had fallen off a deconstructed wall, which is infact great. - Drone
Δ 76. Pointlessly enormous levelling mechanic
In order to keep my fortress flat, I decided to level the corners with walls, which not only took ages but resulted in a puppy falling to it's death when the wall below it was removed (good riddance). - Drone
