I found this oddly shaped dry spot that let me through the aquifer and into the stone. Yay!

Also, don't dig those smoothed walls. They're all waiting to flood the fortress. - Graebeard

Two doors and some hatches keep out the wildlife. They won't stand up to kobolds, however, so we probably need to get something more substantial going. - Graebeard
