Stone! Glorious, dwarfy stone! The aquifers were breached last year, and the decent into rock has begun in earnest. More of the migrants have been put to use, training up masons and craftsdwarfs in an effort to begin using the useless rock.
The mad decent into the earth has been slowed by the construction of defenses. Since it seems that there will be some time before steel production can begin, a redesigned, and trapped, entrance is being constructed in order to protect and seal the fortress should a hostile force arrive.
The central transport system of Sunkenfires is a spiral of ramps leading down in to the earth. At this time, random facilities have been set up on each level until such time as formal layouts can be completed. - SenorPez
The HTML5 map viewer is currently in Alpha mode - I'm actively trying to develop new functionality.
There should be many very obvious problems with the viewer; please check
the
Issues page to notify or comment on the most egregious problems to help
me prioritise. The most common will be Loading... with an error
in the browser developer tools console. e.g. RangeError: Offset is
outside the bounds of the DataView
. Feel free to
report a problem
with a link to the problematic map or point of interest.

You can download the compressed map file:
2010-07/senorpez-Sunkenfires-region1-spr-1053-1053-0.fdf-map
but you will need the .NET version of
SL's DF Map Compressor
to convert to the .PNG image format.
