TroZ's play through at the beginning of summer 1054
A miner died from falling from the top level. I had designated to dig (channel) out an opening to the surface so that the water in the aquifer would freeze, allowing me to tunnel through it. I think the one miner channeled out under the other, causing him to fall 5 stories to his death. For some reason, no one buried him or took any of his items (including the pick).
I thought I was safe then (from miner deaths) as I only had 1 miner left, but a sort time later (a week?) the other miner fall and injured themselves (is ice/snow slippery, I don't think I've seen an 'accidental' fall before). Anyway, he is the yellow plus (+) in the room with the three beds, the right side of which I designated as a hospital zone. Strangely, before I designated it a hospital zone, the injured miner managed to dig out a few (5ish) more squares but was working much slower than normal. While laying in the hospital zone (not on a bed, though) he held on to the pick he was carrying, so even though and gave the miner profession to another dawrf, the injured and dead dwarfs held on to the picks, so the new guy couldn't mine :( (I later thought that taking the mining still away from the injured dwarf might have fixed this issue, but that wasn't necessary as you'll later see). - TroZ
