Beardhall - 205 Early Spring by comradestu

Point of Interest: Trade Room

( 205 Early Spring → 209 Early Spring )

By placing hatches over the up/down staircases (of course the screenshot doesn't show them), the caravans are able to delve deeper into the fort.
This view also brings to light an annoyance I have with how I sized my fort - DF's buildings, for the most part, seem to be an odd number of tiles wide, and I made all my rooms an even number of tiles wide. My reasoning had to do with fitting rows of chairs and tables between the columns (see the Great Hall), but I'm not sure if it was worth it when everything else is off center. - comradestu

How experienced are your miners?

Dwarf Therapist lists them as Legendary +5. They've been working pretty much non-stop since embark.

Obsidian production already?!

I wish.
Just the preparations to get the magma forges and smelters up and running.

Also: I've finally figured out what blue (or green) comments mean.

Wow, lookin' good! That's a truly epic entrance hall... My little 9-wide buggers feel shriveled by comparison...

I've been seeing a big deal over Obsidian, can I inquire as to why?

Obsidian is the (or one of the) most valuable stone(s) you can have. Plus, it can be used to create weaponry!

I'm impressed by all the features you built into the whole entrance area.

I love the entrance ramps. Strategic, functional, and not a complicated maze.
