Redpages - 1053 Early Spring by FunkyWaltDogg

Map Description:

As the third year of the fort begins, there haven't been too many major expansion in fort area. About the only difference to speak of in that respect is the workshop area, which was badly needed to clear out the entrance tunnels.
I built a well and tunneled up to a murky pool to feed it, but I'm currently trying to arrange for a steadier water source. Once that's done, my number one priority is going to be finding a sensible way to irrigate my planned farming area, so that my dwarves can finally stop having to walk hundreds of steps back and forth between the farms and the stockpiles.

Point of Interest: Bloody bridge

( 1053 Early Spring → onwards )

I had a planter with a fey mood take over the nearby craftdwarf's shop, and naturally he wanted shells, which I have no way to provide until I get into the caverns thanks to the missing fish bug. Once he went berserk my axedwarves made short work of him, but of course he just had to die outdoors, and on my bridge no less. Thus far I've been pleasantly surprised at my dwarves' ability to keep things tidy in the fort proper (the remains by the barracks are some kind of raccoon part that got stuck to a glitch a while ago), but there's blood all over in the tunnel and on the surface. - FunkyWaltDogg

The HTML5 map viewer is currently in Alpha mode - I'm actively trying to develop new functionality.

There should be many very obvious problems with the viewer; please check the Issues page to notify or comment on the most egregious problems to help me prioritise. The most common will be Loading... with an error in the browser developer tools console. e.g. RangeError: Offset is outside the bounds of the DataView. Feel free to report a problem with a link to the problematic map or point of interest.

The aqueduct is cool, not seen one of those in a while :)

Thanks! Since these shots were taken, I've constructed a "dwarfduct" in close to the same position on the fortress levels so that I can go mining on the west side, and hopefully find a decent supply of an ore of something other than silver.

You can download the compressed map file: 2010-05/funkywaltdogg-Redpages the Bloody -region1-1053-174.fdf-map but you will need the .NET version of SL's DF Map Compressor to convert to the .PNG image format.
