Welcome, travelers to the friendly abode of Frenzycities. We have only recently discovered the tourism industry as a means of income... I mean cultural exchange. So forgive us when some parts of the fortress are not yet in the state that you maybe know from the mountainhomes. And rest assured that the rumours of travelers being killed in this area while the dwarves of Frenzycities party in their great hall with the drawbridges up are completely unsubstantiated.
The area is a lovely riverside forest with two small rocky hills on the west side. The military secret of this fortress: cheap traps and drawbridges. Our entrance defenses were among the first things build, and so far the military and stone fall traps have fought off two goblin ambushes with negligible losses. Sure, goblin sieges killed an elven caravan and an dwarven caravan from the mountainhomes, and we spend a good part of the past three years cowering behind raised bridges with rampaging trolls, ogres and mounted gobbos outside - but, hey, dead dwarves don't make dwarfbucks.
This is the top level of the magma pump tower. We spent most of the first two years forging iron pump parts to make about 25 magma proof screw pumps, and also quite some wood on about 40 vertical axles towards the water wheels upwards, but it was totally worth it.
An inept architect in the early times of this fortress decided to pump the magma up an additional level for, this has proven to be a mistake. The magma would pour out of the holes dug for the magma workshops, so we had to add a floodgate to the construction. - CptFastbreak

I really like it when fortresses move around and leave old unused rooms back - it gives them an organic feel. You should fill those unused rooms with statues/cages - museums!

That's really a neat idea. Unfortunately I lost the ability to make coke from lignite/bituminous coal due to a bug so the fortress is on hiatus until that is fixed. After that, however, we already have one caged goblin invader and a caged bronze colossus that will be put on display here.
