Longdungeons - 1052 Mid Autumn by Mechanoid

Map Description:

Longdungeons - the complete name of which is too long to properly fit in the image file description - is the first fortress of the .33* version i've uploaded. The extent of the map is somewhere around 6 wide, and exactly 3 high (the minimum)
Contained on the map is a magma pocket (i discovered in an alternate universe not more then 1 screen from my current stairs!) and a brook, providing me with infinite water when i need it. Truely, a critical resource.

Point of Interest: Rock Bottom

Yes, there are stairs on the right-hand side, they're just obscured by the stones.

The left hand side will lead into the dungeons. Hopefully, hundreds of iron and steel cages will exist on this side of the level, holding equal numbers of goblin prisoners down dank and depressing rough stone hallways.
Dwarven prisoners will be given better accomidations, however, as their cells will be 3x3 with constructed iron walls and floors, with a bed, a table, a chair, a central chain, and food and booze to eat and drink.

The right hand side is likely to be flooded with used water, waiting to be pumped upwards and outwards into the brook to be disposed of. The water will likely be used as waterfalls and chunk-disposal. - Mechanoid

Water enters from the South, and leaves through the East. Also shown are stairs to provide a clue as to relative distance to the fortress entrance. - Mechanoid

This level has nothing on it because 6 other levels do too. That's right, the fortress isn't even close to the surface...

Bedrooms for the dwarves that own the shops below, for when the economy starts. Until then, they are bedrooms for the dwarves that use the workshops on the level below. - Mechanoid

Workshops for the dwarves that own the shops below, for when the economy starts. Each workshop will be related to the shop that's below. If the store is clothing, the workshop must produce clothes or clothing enhancements. If the store is crafts, the workshop must produce crafts or crafts enhancements.

Δ 4. Waterfalls!
Well, when i get around to it, of course.

Each waterfall will have a grate and floodgate behind it, and will begin where the rough stone wall ends. The constructed wall between the two corners of each 3-wide wall will be empty space, allowing the water to fall through a set of bars in a manner that's controlled by the remaining constructed walls.

The level below will be modified to permit the water to fall further, and down into the lowest level where it will be recovered and either re-used, or emptied automatically via water-sensitive pressure plate, floodgate, and water pump.
Obviously, the mechanics behind it will be a utter pain, but it will be possible.

Those bridges are also masterpeices, and will span the length of the hole.

9x9 rooms which have workshops associated to the workshop above the store, but do not contribute products to the store. For example, an ashery and kiln for producing pearlash for use in creating the raw clear glass a jewler would use to enhance crafts, or a cutter would use to create clear glass crafts.

MAY be swapped with the level below to prevent noise complains from the sleeping store owners.

Also present is a dining room which will have a clear glass front, food storage room behind it (stocked with stone at the moment) a orthoclase stairwell leading upwards next to a masterpeice microline statue, and a barracks which will be assigned from the mircoline armor stand military dwarves will spar in. - Mechanoid

As you can probably tell, a vast majority of the walls here are constructed. Yes, i now have temporary arthritis due to this.

Δ 3. Waterfalls! Part 2
Well, when i get around to it, of course.

The water will fall precisely into the square behind the center pillar (the 3 pillars between the sets of doors) and will want to move diagonally outwards, but will be stopped and captured by yet another hole in the ground. These holes will have metal bars over them to stop dwarves from getting sucked in. - Mechanoid

The majority of the engravings are of dwarves speaking to dwarves. Soon, it will be painted red with the blood of our enemies.
