Cradlewind - 300 Early Autumn by Vermadus

Map Description:

Work continues slowly! On the other hand, I am having problems with my fps, having bought and bred so many animals, i am currently trying to cage them all, but it seems there was a cat stuck on top of the dome, and...well, you can see the result yourself.

On the other hand, floor placing continues steadily!

Point of Interest: Pumps and Squish-O-Matics

11 pumps pump the magma right out of the pipe, and then the magma gets squished by bridges.

My original plan was to obsidian farm, and slowly empty it, but it required WAY to much attention/effort, and i made it extremely easy to flood my fortress with water. Durrrr - Vermadus

That is one sweet glass dome, where does the water belowground come from though?

Thanks! It's a aquifer. I embarked on a map with magmapipe/aquifer/sand, so i still get the fun i require.

Before i closed it up, i went speed:0 and dug the edges to release the aquifer so now the "pool" fills up nearly instantly. Theres not much room on that z-level for building though.

Cats stuck on the dome. That I did not expect.

Very sweet dome, have you had chance to put it through a visuliser? It'd be cool if you could upload some pics :)

After some fiddling with stonesense i got this:

The cat problem is starting to get really bad by now. Thank armok they don't have a extreme big space to move around in, else my fps would still be down the shitter with a 1x1, and that would be seriously sucky.

You can download the compressed map file: 2010-03/vermadus-Cradlewind-region13-300-22848.fdf-map but you will need the .NET version of SL's DF Map Compressor to convert to the .PNG image format.
