• Δ 68. The Spire

  The spire is made of obsidian blocks, just like everything else in Chancebolts. The very top tile is made of platinum, and on top of that is a 52,000 dwarbuck platinum statue. - kenken244

• ¶ 68. The Spire Statue
  The statue atop the spire is made of platinum, decorated by legendary dwarves with every precious metal and gem I could get my hands on. The dwarves had been training their skills for several years now, and just recently did they reach legendary. The statue is appraised at 52,000 dwarfbucks, more than any artifact created during the last 22 years. - kenken244
• 31. Mayor's Room

  This room serves as the dining room, office, and bedroom for the mayor and his wife. The table is made of electrum and the throne out of platinum, due to demands of past mayors. - kenken244

• 29. Lots of Windmills

  Only about half of these are actually used. Though, if what I'm planning actually proves to be feasable, I may be needing all that excess power. At 40 power each, wind proves to be a more reliable power source than water when the river freezes. - kenken244

  The magmaduct provides magma to the forgeworks. A nickel floodgate is placed at the end just in case I want to tap into it at some future date. - kenken244

• Δ 27. Meeting Hall

  ( 122 Early Spring to onwards )
  The Meeting Hall was just completed recently. At it's center is a masterwork platinum statue, sorrounded by obsidan tables and chairs for dining. It is sorrounded by electrum and rose gold statues. The carpet is made completely by my own craftsdwarves, with the exception of some imported dyes. The black bronze cages on the edges contain a black bear, a deer, a fox, a groundhog, a rhesus macaque, a cougar, and a racoon. It contained a grizzly bear for the first few months, but then it died of old age and was replaced by a Llama. - kenken244

• 26. Bridge Mist Generator

  This is a mist generator above the bridge. In order to suspend it over the bridge without roofing it over or obstructing movement, I had to build supports on the level below. It bathes the bridge below with mist, except when it freezes up in the winter. - kenken244

• 25. The Bridge

  This is the bridge across the major river. It will mainly serve for storage, recreation, and noble housing once it is finished. From here you can see the mosaic-thing on the surface of the bridge, made from electrum, platinum, rose gold, and black bronze.The lower part does not connect because I have still not figured out how I want to connect it. - kenken244

• 24. Experimental Mist Maker

  This is a variation on the usual mist-maker design. In this version, there are three spaces between the squares that mist is generated on. It also seems to produce more mist. It is not perfect, as it freezes up during the winter, preventing me from knowing if it would survive for longer that a year, and causing it to leak when the thaw comes. - kenken244

• 24. The "Dam"

  This series of walls has raisable bridges that allow me to block the flow of the river and drain it. It was supposted to allow me to begin construction on supports for a structure whenever I wanted, not just when the river freezes. In practice, the river is so large that it takes almost a whole season to drain, killing my FPS while it does. It has never been used since its first test run. - kenken244

• 23. Housing Area

  This structure provides housing for all the non-noble dwarves in the fortress. Each dwarf is provided with a grand quality bedroom, with two windows, two cabinets, two coffers, and a carpet made from dimple dye. It has a ramp built for connecting to a future construction. - kenken244

• 23. The East Plaza

  Here is a central intersection of traffic in the fort. To the north you can see the masonry building, and to the south you can see the clothing building. It serves as the only connection to the housing area to the east, and the rest of the fortress. - kenken244

• Δ 23. The Forgeworks

  ( 122 Early Spring to onwards )
  The Forgeworks supplies Chancebolts with all of its glass and metal needs. It is supplied magma by the magmaduct, and has its pressure equalised by magma-proof screw pumps powered by a bauxite drive shaft. - kenken244

• 23. The West Plaza

  ( 119 Late Spring to onwards )
  This will eventually be the major hub of traffic that all dwarves will be funneled through to get to the industrial areas. To the north is the forgeworks, currently without magma, the west will eventually contain a general craft area, and the south will eventually contain a food processing building. The upper floors contain a mist generator, ant on top of that there is a clear glass statue garden that may be for public use, or for the philosopher when he arrives. - kenken244

• 20. Old Fort

  This was my temporary fortress while the other structures were being built. It is mostly used for storage now. Work is continuing on moving everything into the new fortress. - kenken244

• 15. Old Obsidian Factory

  ( 117 Early Winter to onwards )
  This is an old obsidian maker that was used in the beginning of the fortress. It had numerous flaws: It could only function when the river was not frozen, which is a good fith of the year, It would melt obsidian if you tried to encase the rocks in order to create a larger stockpile, it had a tendency to require tedious and dangerous work to fix if the levers were not pulled correctly, and it required two levers to be pulled in order to function.Soon after the masonry building was completed, it became obvious that the obsidian maker could not keep up with production. That, combined with the other flaws, led me to build the newer obsidan maker to the east. It is still functional, if I wanted to use it for some reason. - kenken244

• 13. New Obsidian Factory

  ( 117 Early Winter to onwards )
  This is the new obsidian maker. It works incredibly efficiently, year round, and can provide all the obsidian I need for nearly anything. It draws water from the aquifer, and requires 14 windmills to power all the pumps. I find it strange that even while living on a major river, wind is the most reliable power source. - kenken244

• 12. Magma Plug

  ( 117 Early Winter to onwards )
  This piece of what looks like obsidian is actually Gabbro. While excavating, one of my miners accidentally breached the magma pipe. I had to seal it from above with the Gabbro, saving the nickel ore that was just starting to be melted, allowing me to make the new obsidian factory sooner. - kenken244
