My first successful Dig Deeper map. The fort is situated between a volcano and a chasm.
So far the average lifespan of a citizen has been around two years. The continuous orc attacks have been pretty easily defeated with my few skilled marksdwarves, bridge trap and an unending supply of +orc bone bolts+. Most of my losses have been due to goblins archers ambushing my lone wood haulers in the forest.
The orcs are not sieging as often as they did, instead making a single large rush every year. The green menace is also showing up less often. While the actual number of invaders is lower than it used to be, their new fondness of ranged weapons and The Cave Of Terror is surely making up for the lack of their manpower.

This is by far the most interesting and Fun fortress I have ever played
( 117 Mid Spring → 126 )
I have recently gotten a lot of children, and especially infants diving down the waterfall, only to be found in the unused flooding system. When I noticed this I promptly locked the door in the north and watched the hilarity.
