Sparkgear 6 - The Doom of Friends - 302 Late Winter by Demonic Spoon

Map Description:

I made an entire fortress from scratch in one day.

Point of Interest: Crypts

Where Rick Voider the insane bonecarver resides. - Demonic Spoon

The HTML5 map viewer is currently in Alpha mode - I'm actively trying to develop new functionality.

There should be many very obvious problems with the viewer; please check the Issues page to notify or comment on the most egregious problems to help me prioritise. The most common will be Loading... with an error in the browser developer tools console. e.g. RangeError: Offset is outside the bounds of the DataView. Feel free to report a problem with a link to the problematic map or point of interest.

Death road drainage should be an interesting task when using magma, what with magma not flowing off the edge of the map. If the magma tank above was smaller (or stopped 1 Z-level higher), it might've been feasible to put in some screw pumps to suck the magma out through the ceiling.

Yeah, I hadn't known that... however, I think pressurized magma does; after I opened the way to the spot one z-level down it did, at least (although it might have just been that when that part filled up it brought the level low enough to start evaporation)

That looks a little bit like my newly uploaded fortress that became abandoned :)

I like how the workshops look like

Its worth looking at the overlapping climate / regions on when setting down a map- like you notice, sometimes overlapping regions have different temperature / climates that affect the freezing of water.

I've had maps like that before where half the fortress has frozen due to spilt surface water.

You actually magmaflooded it and created an underground river from a frozen brook.

And btw, that's more levers than before in Sparkgear.

It's not bad but... quite tiny.

You can download the compressed map file: 2009-10/demonicspoon-Sparkgear the Doom o-SG6-302-39478.fdf-map but you will need the .NET version of SL's DF Map Compressor to convert to the .PNG image format.
