Daggerferal is my first fortress in to which I've sunk any appreciable level of planning.
This is one of two fortress that I've started with grand architectural ideas based on the local layout, and this time, I'm paying enough attention to the logistics of the fortress to prevent the starvation tantum spiral that ended Paintfeed.
I wasn't paying close enough attention on embark, so I don't know if I'll be meeting any goblins yet on this map. Hence the low population, and the wall slowly spreading out to encircle the map.
( 210 Mid Spring → onwards )
Due to some poorly written mechanics notes, the pressure plate in Daggerferal's shiny new cistern didn't activate as planned.
The local dwarves, being the heroes they are, managed to rush into the well room and throw the backup switches in time, but they got their trousers soaked in the process.
Pressure control rooms were added at the river inlet to prevent a second occurrence, and the original plate system has been left to rot as a reminder to all future engineers.
On the upswing, Daggerferal now has convenient indoor access to sand. - Njero
