Map Description:

After Ark Bookfatal's costly and ultimately indecisive war against the horrors in the deep, the dwarves of Sparkgear hungered for change. They would find it in Nil the Deathbringer. Nil's reign was characterized by the construction of large public works and an improving public mood, but was dogged by questions regarding his personal command over a military unit. Others accused Nil's tenure of being "boring," claiming that "nothing happened."

We're going to carve fortifications adjacent to the level edge. Fake chasm, coming right up.

I can't see wanting to open up that river, the FPS drop would be too much trouble for it to be worthwhile.

That's the entire point of the river! It will force us to a new site!(I don't like these non infinite sources of magma at all)

Infinite magma's just too easy, though. I managed to create a map-wide magma moat while only scratching the surface of our magma supply.

Also, you could still do your magma curtain with this, since it basically recycles magma.

this disk-like tower houses the statue garden, which in turn hosts an raw adamantine artifact statue. the blue floors are also made of adamantine ore.

because it is above ground, any parties can be canceled by ordering dwarves indoors.

that's actually just my blueprint for the different levels of the statue garden dome; any resemblance to any persons living or dead is purely co-incidental.

the shared bedroom for a new military squad. didn't realize how valuable the gold vein would be going in; even split 8 ways the bedrooms were the best in the fort until I put an adamantine statue in the mayor's room. - _nil_
Δ 15. Fountain Hall
The public dining hall. It has a bad-ass fountain and an exceptional raw adamantine statue. Traffic from outside has to pass through here to get to most of the fort. To the east there is an older dining hall, currently serving as the mayor's office. To the southwest, a small administrator's office, currently used by Demonic Spoon. - _nil_
¶ 15. Outer Courtyard
Most workshops are here right now, as are the farms and many important stockpiles. The statue garden tower rises above it. - _nil_

this bedroom and dining room / office provide what will some day be a delightful riverside view through the gem windows. the current occupant, Brak, was re-elected just a few months ago.

those who call this desecration would stand in the way of both progress and democracy! also you might want to try replacing the holes in the level below with floodgates, with the right color they blend in pretty well. - _nil_
Δ 12. penthouse apartments in the residencial district
the bedrooms on this level are reserved for only the most important dwarves--former leaders, mostly--and all of the rooms in this cavern are intended for Sparkgear's elite. although I haven't placed all of it, there should be almost enough high quality furniture for the whole district sitting in the mason shop below. enough of it is encrusted with shell to finish off the top story. - _nil_
