• 120. Roofdwelling Stadium

  ( 226 Mid Summer to onwards )
  This is a side view of the Roofdwelling Stadium. The stadium seating stretches up 4 levels, to allow a large number of attendees to look down upon the carnage below. On the bottom level, storage is available for any prisoners who have found their way into our cage traps. The Stadium is connected to the water tower, and the bottom floor can be flooded if we want to drown our prisoners instead, or maybe stage a mock naval battle, maybe... - Marko

• 92. Main Street (Side View)

  This is a side view of Main street, as it cuts through the town. You can see it run through The Watch House, tunnel under the river, then leads up to the Dwarf Apartment Building, as it towers over Main Street. - Marko

• Δ 70. The Obsidian Monolith

  ( 239 Early Summer to onwards )
  This giant obsidian Monolith stretches 32 levels from the very bottom floor all the way to the top most peak we could build. It's exact dimensions are 20x10x32, and etched within is the history of Roofdwelling. There's also a few designs carved out of the interior of the Monolith as well, you can take a look at each floor in top-down view to see. Unlike the other buildings in Roofdwelling, this one was actually forged out of magma and water to create obsidian, which could then be engraved. It was a serious pain in the arse to get it all pumped over there, so you better appreciate it! :P - Marko

• 21. Mayor's Suite

  Towering 6 floors above the ground is the large circular Mayor's suite. With a large office lined with statues, it is a magnificent structure (and was a damn pain to build!) - Marko

• Δ 14. The Shell Stash

  Just in case anybody is crying for shells... we've got them covered! The fisher dwarf went fishing, and yanked out about a hundred turtles one season, so I made a nice little stash to put all the shells after the turtles rotted away. - Marko

• 19. Nobel Floor

  ( 217 to onwards )
  Five floors up in the Dwarf Apartment Building is the Nobles floor, with four large suites for the nobles of the fortress. - Marko

• 19. Roofdwelling Water Tower

  ( 223 Early Spring to onwards )
  The Roofdwelling Water Tower looms over the north eastern corner of the city. Water is pumped up from the river to fill the tower, creating water pressure to be used in many devious drowning contraptions, as well as the possibility of a scenic water fountain, or artificial water fall.
  
  The Tower has 5 shafts at the bottom, each controlled by it's own lever to regulate water flow. The middle shaft is currently used for drainage should the tower need to be accessed for repairs, modifications, etc. The drainage pipe revealed some rather high water pressure! - Marko

• 18. The Omega Club

  ( 229 Early Spring to onwards )
  I figured it was about time we had a decent place to throw parties. So The Omega Club was born. Built at the top of the Mall, the Omega Club is lined with statues, as well as many pieces of artifact furniture are on display. Also supplies with a large quantity of booze, it's everything you need for a great dwarf party! - Marko

• 18. Watch House Executive Level

  ( 223 Early Spring to onwards )
  Another floor was added to the Watch House for an executive office. Since there was some space left over, the Captain of the Guard suggested using the extra space for backup alcohol storage. - Marko

• 16. Baron Monom Stinthaddast's Room

  ( 229 Early Spring to onwards )
  This is the Baron's private quarters. As you can see, he has a thing for skull totems, cat skulls in particular litter the whole room. A rather beautiful sight, and it makes a great conversation piece when the elves come over to demand we chop down less wood! - Marko

• 16. Ironheart Bridge

  Iron Heart Bridge allows for traffic passage over the river on the southern side of town. - Marko

• 16. Longbeard Street Bridge

  ( 217 to onwards )
  The Longbeard Street Bridge allows for traffic passage over the river on the northern side of town. - Marko

• 15. 'The Sweatshop'

  ( 226 Mid Summer to onwards )
  Squeezed into a small sliver between Waste Disposal and the farms is the clothing factory, known as 'The Sweatshop' mainly because of it's rather tight space, and probably from the heat radiating from Waste Disposal. However it's location is rather beneficial being close to the farm's plant processing workshops, plant thread can be woven into cloth, then made into clothing to keep our now 130+ dwarves from running around in tatters. - Marko

• 15. Animal Processing Plant

  ( 219 Mid Autumn to onwards )
  This is the animal processing plant. The messy and smelly job of the butcher is in a sealed well ventilated room. After an animal is butchered, it's skin can be transferred over to the tanner's shop to create leather. Workshops are set up to convert the generated bones and leather generated into useful goods. - Marko

• 15. Dwarf Apartments, ground floor.

  This is the lower level of the Dwarf Apartments, there are four floors with an identical layout of apartments for the working class dwarfs. - Marko

• 15. Graveyard

  ( 217 to onwards )
  This is the graveyard. Sadly most of the coffins are full of dwarves who dived in a never ending string of berserk dominoes. Lots of 'fun' indeed. - Marko

• 15. Kogan's Cookery

  ( 219 Mid Autumn to onwards )
  Kogan's Cookery, a large buffet restaurant which offers take out catering for nobles and soldiers. Their specialty is dwarven bread, Strawberry wine biscuits, and sausage in a bun. Indoor seating, as well as a covered patio overlooking the river for a pleasant outdoor dining experience. (Just ignore the hungry dwarf eating fish) - Marko

• 15. Lumber Yard

  ( 221 Early Spring to onwards )
  This is the new Lumber yard, with large storage space for wood (currently depleted, used to increase our supply of bins) Workshop space for carpentry, craftdwarves, siege engineers, and bowyers is provided within the yard. It is located near the main entrance to allow quick unloading of any lumber cut outside of the fortress. - Marko

• 15. Main Street Jewlers

  ( 226 Mid Summer to onwards )
  This is the home of Main Street Jewelers. Raw stone is brought in for inspection by the jeweler, who after inspecting and cutting, places it safely in the back behind the iron bars, just to limit temptations... - Marko

• 15. Main Street Tunnel

  ( 217 to onwards )
  Main Street dips under the river that cuts through the city with a wide tunnel. - Marko

• 15. Metal Works

  ( 221 Early Spring to onwards )
  This is the city's metal works factory. Magma was pumped up to the surface from the magma pipe far below, and used to power several furnaces and forges. The multi-floor building has storage above and below for metal ores and goblin gear needing a quick melt down. - Marko

• 15. Mighty Dwarf Gym

  ( 226 Mid Summer to onwards )
  This is the Mighty Dwarf Gym, where we whip the wimpy haulers into dwarfly dwarves! Using a combo cardio and strength exercises (pump operating) the dwarves build up their strength, agility, and toughness. Making them much better haulers. The gym is also equipped with a large locker room, a pool, and a spa. Sadly dwarves don't like water much, and getting them to swim is rather difficult... - Marko

• 15. Olonardes Tavern

  ( 219 Mid Autumn to onwards )
  Home of our local brew master, the Olanardes Tavern is Roofdwelling's home for booze. With some pretty statues to look at, lots of drinks all around, and even a dart board (mainly used by the guards when they're bored). There is a basement underneath for more alcohol storage. A very important part of any Dwarven town. - Marko

• 15. Rock Quary

  ( 226 Mid Summer to onwards )
  This large structure is for the processing of rocks within the fortress. The upper half is dedicated to obsidian, while the lower half holds various other rocks. A team of rock dwarves work around the clock to help clear up the rock clutter that has plagued the tunnels under the city. - Marko

  A zoomed out look at Roofdwelling from far away. Here you can see the large streets running through the city, and the river slicing the city in half. - Marko

• 15. Roofdwelling Farms

  ( 219 Mid Autumn to onwards )
  With an above ground and below ground strips of farm plots. The Farmers create a wide variety of plants year round to give the dwarves of the city a wide variety of food and materials to work with. At the moment the processing and milling facilities aren't used, but will be once the clothing industry is properly set up. - Marko

• 15. Roofdwelling Mall: Ground Floor

  I think I went a little overboard on the Mall, I just sorta started building, next thing I knew I had space for 23 shops. We definitely have enough goods to fill all the shops, and the dwarf teenagers could always use a place to pretend to be rebellious, so hey, why not build an epic temple to capitalism? The Main feature of the mall is the revolving spiral ramp that makes a nifty quarter turn at each level. - Marko

• 15. Roofdwelling Palace

  ( 226 Mid Summer to onwards )
  this is the home of Baron Monom Stinthaddast, and his Consort, Kogan Tomemzasit. Sadly they arrived before it could be properly furnished, and the Masons were busy finishing up the stadium. However with the stadium now complete, expect the Palace to be royally furnished by the next update! - Marko

• 15. Roofdwelling Stadium: Control Room

  This small room is where the magic of the stadium is controlled. The switches next to the blue wall are for controlling water flow, the others are for releasing cages. - Marko

• 15. Royal Tombs

  ( 229 Early Spring to onwards )
  The cemetery was expanded to make room for more tombs for our increasing noble population. The ground floor of the Royal tombs is for the Baron and his consort, the upper level is reserved for the king, should he decide to move out of his grubby little cave. I plan to make all of the king's furniture out of gold, to give a stark contrast to the black obsidian that lines the rest of the city. - Marko

• 15. Squeeze Apartments.

  Space is a bit of a commodity in Roofdwelling and with 166 dwarves, it's hard to find places for them all to stay. So I built a small compact apartment complex squeezed in between the Waste Disposal and the river to help alleviate the housing crunch. - Marko

• 15. Statue Garden

  Under the water complex is a statue tower adding a splash of color to the obsidian smothered world of Roofdwelling. - Marko

• 15. The battlefield.

  This site marks the location of man battles between the lucky 13 and goblin sieges. Goblin clothes are scattered all across the place as they were repeatedly ripped to shreds by our obsidian sword wielding warriors. Even with 50 workers doing nothing but hauling jobs, we still can't get the mess cleaned up! - Marko

• 15. The Fishing Hut

  This is the city's fishing hut. Providing an extra bit of variety in the dwarven diet from the usual flour roasts, a lone fishing dwarf catches fresh fish from the river, and processes them into something edible. - Marko

• 15. The Lonely Willow

  Just a poor little willow tree wedged between the Animal Processing Plant and the river, amused me a bit ;) - Marko

• 15. The Royal Palace of Roofdwelling

  ( 233 Early Summer to onwards )
  This is the Royal Palace, home of Queen Lokum Thobmonom, and her Consort King Litast Monomatul. The palace is lined with gold furniture. A gold road leads from the street to the palace doors, where the palace splits into the Queen's tower (on the right) and the King Consort's tower (on the left) The Royal bedrooms on the top floor have a huge dome ceiling to cap the top of the palace. - Marko

• 15. The Warehouse

  ( 219 Mid Autumn to onwards )
  Just off the Main street is the main storage warehouse of Roofdwelling. Many goods will be stored here. And if we need more space, we can always add more floors. The Trade depot is also located within the warehouse on the bottom floor, for easy access to trading goods. A large number of bins have been produced to help reduce the massive clutter that was plaguing the fortress a few years ago, however it will be a daunting task to move all the stuff strewn all over the place into the warehouse. - Marko

• 15. Waste Disposal

  This is the waste disposal center for Roofdwelling. The large open pit falls several levels to magma waiting below to dispose of any waste quickly. Cages of any intruders caught in traps are moved here, where their inhabitants are pushed off the ledge and get to enjoy falling a long distance, than having a pool of hot magma break their fall. - Marko

• 15. Watch House

  ( 217 to onwards )
  This is the watch house, all traffic must flow through here to gain access to the rest of the city. Usually a few soldiers sparring on the lower level, who have 'fun' with any unfortunate kobolds that snuck past the outer traps. - Marko

• 14. Emergency Shelter

  ( 233 Early Summer to onwards )
  Hidden under the Dwarven apartments is the Dwarf's emergency shelter. Located safely underground, in case of a siege all civilian dwarves are ordered to seek shelter in this safe location. Many bunks have been set up in case of a long drawn out siege dwarves have a place to sleep. Also a safe place that wounded can be brought and looked after as well. - Marko

• 14. Roofdwelling Stadium: Arena Floor

  ( 226 Mid Summer to onwards )
  This is the floor of the Arena. A couple uncooperative goblins who didn't want to be locked up in cages already litter the area. Cages can be released from a control room on the surface, as well as water can flood the room rather quickly, then be drained away again, should the arena need a good washing... or if we just simply want to drown a few goblins. - Marko

• 14. Watch House Dungeon

  ( 221 Mid Autumn to onwards )
  After finally getting the metal works up and running, there now is enough iron to line the basement below the watch house with the appropriate iron bars for a proper dungeon to enforce the city laws. Hopefully it won't be used much, but each cell has an obsidian statue and a golden chain to encourage any dwarf criminals that a life without crime is much more rewarding. - Marko

• 8. Obsidian Factory

  ( 217 to onwards )
  This is the city's large obsidian factory, which produces 99% of the building material for the city up above. Magma is pumped in from the magma pipe to fill up the pit, then water is poured in from the river. - Marko

• Δ Rock Processing

  ( 239 Early Summer to onwards )
  These catapults helped me get rid of most rock (outside of obsidian) a large team of dwarves have gotten pretty good at operating siege engines in the process too. I think I might add some catapults to the defenses in the future. Now being used as obsidian storage overflow, since the obsidian monolith created ALOT of obsidian... LOTS - Marko
