  Much more awesome-looking than I had anticipated.
  
  On the left, you can see my entrance ramp, which is separated from my low west tower at the moment because the bridge us up.
  
  Further right is the glass palace, submerged under the magma, and then the east tower, which is the second tallest. - Loki

  Fortifications! Haven't had a chance to utilize them yet. Not for lack of attack, though-- I've just been too lazy to train marksdwarves. - Loki
• Δ 24. 3. Magmafall mechanism
  Here's where the magma comes out of the tower. Power travels up the through the "safe" side on the south. All four towers share identical setups, just rotated 90 degrees and of varying heights.

  The top of the lowest tower holds a glass bridge and trade depot. It was pure coincidence that the towers were made large enough for the depot. Glad it turned out that way. :) - Loki
• ¶ 16. 1. The Lake
  Here's the lake, and its four glass towers rising above. The 1-magma path leading off to the left is from the pumping system I used to fill it... probably should deconstruct those now. - Loki

  This was a terrible monstrosity to set up. I mean seriously, look at that map-spanning axle. Ugh.
  
  You could follow the map down a few z levels if you wanted to see the half-empty magma pipe used for filling. - Loki
• Δ 15. 10. More power
  ...long way. Here's the generator. The twelve wheels on the right power the magmafalls, which you've seen if you've been following the tour. The other six, on the left, powered the pumping system used to fill the magma lake. - Loki
• Δ 13. 5. Submerged magma dining room
  Glass walls, floors, and ceilings. Clear glass tables and chairs. Windows to look out into the molten pit they call home.
  
  ...I would be scared out of my mind to eat here, but they just keep coming back. - Loki
• Δ 12. 6. Artifacts and future rooms
  If I ever set my population cap to something more than 65, this is where at least a couple nobles will live. - Loki
• Δ 11. 7. Barracks + machine room
  Oh lord it was a bitch to get all those axles and stuff set up. Power flows from the bottom right corner of the map to get to here, where the axles split off into compass directions in order to power each tower's screw pumps. As of now, the rocks for the mechanisms and the wood for the axles are the only non-glass permanent fixtures in the Upper Fortress.
  
  The barracks is placed here so that all incoming traffic has to pass through my military. - Loki
• Δ 10. 8. Storage, water flow, farming, workshops, and mechanics
  We're under ground at last. This room was the all-purpose room that everything got thrown into when my dwarves made their final move from the temporary fortress to their new, significantly warmer home. I decided to leave it that way, and just threw a farm in for convenience.

• Δ 9. 12. Estates
  Housing for the richer folks (who'm I kidding? If I had enough dwarves for an economy, my computer would stop. I can still dream though).
  
  The mayor's estate is in the very middle, with larger houses surrounding it. More uniform, smaller rooms branch our of the top and bottom of the two main circles used to create the layout.
  
  The wing to the west has my glass-producing industry, with sand right next to the shops thanks to a carefully-planned 6 story cavein.
  
  The wing to the east will probably be a zoo eventually. - Loki
• Δ 8. 13. Slums and furnace
  The slums were drawn with the mouse, on purpose, to make them uneven and haphazard looking. None of the rooms have doors and they're all of varying sizes, as if the less wealthy of the population just had to dig in and make a home for themselves where they could.
  
  To the left, there's my furnace-- lines of magma spaced 3 squares apart so as to efficiently supply the whole glassworking area.
  
  It's also the current lowest level of the fort. - Loki
