In this fort I decided to experiment on using cast obsidian to build my fort. Hence the huge obsidian block.
However, after building that huge magma transfer system it seemed a waste to dismantle it. While I was building the tower I noticed that "my, pressurized magma sure travels fast" quickly followed by "OH GAWD PRESSURIZED MAGMA".
It kinda snowballed from there.
So may I present: The Dwarven Magma Cannon!
I confess that it currently has pretty pathetic range but it can unload huge amounts of magma near its target.
The cannon is operated from this room. (Ok ok certain other levers have to be in the correct position for these to work).
The left one loads the tank. Be careful not to overfill it. If pressurized, the magma would rise up to the pumps and destroy them.
The middle one primes the cannon for firing. Actually it just turns the internal pumps on. But bleh.
The right one fires. (opens a floodgate)
This is actually the only part in the entire complex that has a bauxite mechanism in it. Strictly speaking it isn't necessary, as simply priming the cannon would have similar effects but this one preserves the pressure better. - Nahkh_

You need a magma moat. That'll stop those pesky wolves and trees! Also, the cannon is awe inspiring. I needs to be pressurized somehow.
