Moralhatchet - 206 Early Summer by protobob

Map Description:

Here we have The Board of Wanderers, who found Moralhatchet in 201. They began in a small corner of a valley, and have reached up and grabbed a good bit of it for themselves. They've defeated four goblin sieges, they've got defense, food and beer for ever and ever...but what they really need is some damn orginization!

Been playing casually off and on since DF came out but this is the first time I've really got into it, this has been something of a learning newbie experience for me. I've never got this far before.

Point of Interest: Secondary Gate

Quck access to the countryside here that would otherwise be a long hike down through the moat house and back up.

Fortifications with levers attached to floodgates so as to allow dwarven crossbow squads to form up in safety...when I get around to finally training them. :) - protobob

Main gate is protected by two retractable draw bridges, 21 cage traps, nine weapons trap (all maxed with ten weapons each, including serrated steel discs), two portcullis (currently raised) and have since added floodgates to fall down as an arrow shield near the ramps (added after the squad leader took an arrow and died).
No hostiles have made it through the gate yet.

Δ 15. Moat House (of Death!)
All land-based enemy hostiles have to pass through here to reach the main gate. The pressure plate here is wired to the bridges, causing them to retract when stepped on. It's drown many a sieging goblin already (look in the water one level down). Against smalling groups it tends to only slow them down, but that will be useful when the ballistas are set up and pointing right through here.

This is actually version two of the trap. I had to dig the moat out further north of the trap, and added the second bridge in as a quick fix (some of the goblins where swimming to shore) - protobob
