Roofdwelling - 226 Mid Summer by Marko

Map Description:

The Construction of Roofdwelling continues! Much added since the last update. We've complete construction of the place for the Baron, though not yet furnished, still a rather impressive structure. A Mason district with a large space for rock to be dumped, a gym for getting those puny little haulers into shape, and of great pride, Roofdwelling Stadium.

Starting to run out of space within the walls of the city. However, still many things I wish to do:
-Expand the graveyard and create a proper burial grounds for the fallen dwarves.
-Create a shopping mall, with the recent arrival of a tax collector we can now build shops, a large multi-level shopping mall seems to be in order!
-Construct a park and Zoo
-Create a royal Tower, should we ever attract the attention of the King
-Add a Fishery
-Only have greenery in specific locations, the rest should be paved with obsidian!
-Make things look prettier!

Point of Interest: Roofdwelling Stadium: Arena Floor

( 226 Mid Summer → onwards )

This is the floor of the Arena. A couple uncooperative goblins who didn't want to be locked up in cages already litter the area. Cages can be released from a control room on the surface, as well as water can flood the room rather quickly, then be drained away again, should the arena need a good washing... or if we just simply want to drown a few goblins. - Marko

The HTML5 map viewer is currently in Alpha mode - I'm actively trying to develop new functionality.

There should be many very obvious problems with the viewer; please check the Issues page to notify or comment on the most egregious problems to help me prioritise. The most common will be Loading... with an error in the browser developer tools console. e.g. RangeError: Offset is outside the bounds of the DataView. Feel free to report a problem with a link to the problematic map or point of interest.

My good sir, I could not help but to notice you do not have in your possession, an arena.
This is most unfortunate as in my humble opinion, no bastion of dwarven might is truly ever complete without said arena.
If you desire, I would be most honored to assist you in this issue by providing plans for a true Colosseum, so great that it will cast a shadow on any and every might that dare challenge your dwarven superiority!

So send me a pm on the forums.

Why do you have so many engineers? Am I missing something?

Submitted by: Marko - 2009-04-05 to 223 Early Spring

Fear not! An arena is in the plans! Eventually... Roofdwelling wasn't built in a day you know! As for so many engineers, my dwarfs go through a rigorous pump operating regiment to keep them fit and nimble, so many are legendary pump operators, which makes 'em look like engineers.

About the last patch of grass...
I'd think the answer is quite obvious but I'll give you a hint.

GREAT WORK.

This is the greatest fortress I have ever seen. You have got to have had this thing planned out far in advance even by 217 Summer.
