The start of the 5th year has come with both the good, and the bad. With the towers along the road completed, I am ready to start my next big project, a set of walls connecting each tower to the next (and the first set to the fortress), allowing me to control wagon entry.
The good, the road and towers have been finished, I've passed the 50 dwarf mark, giving me a Mayor and Fortress Guard, and a good bit of construction and expansion within the fortress.
The bad, while there were very few goblins this year, and no deaths (at least, no dwarven deaths...), my bone carver was wounded, while defending one of the children. She suffered a nasty knife wound, resulting in a yellow upper right leg. Unfortunately, she has not yet made a full recovery, but is at least resting, I hope to see her back to work next year.
I removed the population cap this year, and got a surprisingly small 15 new dwarves. On the other hand, I now have a total of 6 children, counting babies. I do however find it odd that only two couples have had any children, with three apiece...
Thankfully, only two of these tombs are in use. Each has a stone coffin (with the exception of the southern-most tomb), a glass box, a stone cabinet, and two stone statues.
The southern-most tomb has a glass coffin because the woodcutter who it belongs to liked glass. Given her tragic but heroic death, I hope to eventually replace all the other furniture with glass alternatives as well. - timmeh
