Angelbane - 237 Mid Summer by ClsfdKidd

Map Description:

I got a Goblin Seige, which is kinda cheating, since I only had 79 Dwarves. I guess the fact that I had several recent deaths, and at ONE point I had over 80 was good enough for the goblins to wage war.

An engraver couldn't get inside in time, and his head was found several paces away. Luckily, my weapon traps make burger out of any force large enough to bypass my cages.

Several of my dwarves are basically streaking, their clothes are wearing right off their bodies. And even though I've had a full-time weaver for two years, he's been to busy gathering silk to actually give me any cloth. Well, more looms, more weavers.

Point of Interest: 8,000 stones.

I'm sick to death of all this junk lying around. Every project I do there's more of this crud. I can't expand worth a darn. And to top THAT off, my idiot butt-wipe Mayor keeps putting a ban on bracelets. So I have several thousand bracelets/amulets in bins I can't sell, 8,000 stones that I have no interest in using, and a mountain shaping project that will give me an even more infinite supply of stones.
Whine, whine, whine....
Right now, somewhere there is a guy with an aquifer that would gladly kill for this rock. I just need to calm down. :) - ClsfdKidd

Good luck! You should add some points of interest to let us know what your forts up to.

Tombs, you mean, TREE FARM?
Are you going to seal the hoard with magma?

Well, I know for sure that I need a tree farm. The Giant Bat incident really was a kick in the seat. I'm thinking that I'll make some sort of indoor room with the natural waterfall in the center, then maybe use pumps to make a really big, curvy, natural-looking cavern and irrigate the tower-caps into it. Some fishing spots would be nice, too.

As far as sealing the hoard with magma, WHOA Markavian, that's an awesome idea. That's makin' my brain go 'round. I'll have to think on all the engineering aspects for a bit. I certainly don't want to burn my artifacts, cause THAT would suck.

A GCS killed by a kobold? HAHAHAHAHA.

WELL! My GCS is precious to me. I may never get another one even after years of playing DF. So I just want to be careful.

BTW, does this mean I could basically let him roam free killing critters and spewing silk? Cause if he's not gonna die, I might do that.

Love the layout, especially the tendency to avoid square or ugly rectangular rooms.

I love the tileset you're using. It's very squiggly.

Nice. I like the way all the bedrooms are "lighted" via fortifications.

You can download the compressed map file: 2009-03/clsfdkidd-Angelbane-region1-237-15067.fdf-map but you will need the .NET version of SL's DF Map Compressor to convert to the .PNG image format.
