Tomeheaven - 77 Early Spring by Razin

Map Description:

Welcome, messenger. I'm afraid this year your report will be less exciting then last year's but feel free to look around.

Point of Interest: Cave River

Hear that rushing water? That would be the cave river! Between you and me, I was rather skeptical it was there. I have heard the geologist who did our pre-embark survey work was good, but I never trust someone based on reputation. Plus, the lad has a very....elfy name. What self respecting dwarf names a kid Reveale?

We still need to make the area safe, though, so I'd stay away from there if I were you, even if we hadn't sealed it off again. It is teaming with scaly creeps, and our hammerdwarves are reluctant to try drawing them out of the water. It's probably just as well, there are enough monsters that they would probably get dragged under the water. A pair of immigrants volunteered to join the guard as marksdwarves, so we'll let them have some target practice here before we go about making the river useful. - Razin

Construction is well underway, I'm sure the queen will be pleased with news of its progress. A warning has been issued that staircases built on successive levels can be hazards for dwarves who may slip, or be pushed, from the top; as such my forts employ either a central spiral stair, or a succession of alternating up/down stairs.

Good work defending the hillside, its always challenging trying to close the holes around a mountainhome when your back is against a rolling hillside.

I like the emphasis on diamonds in construction as opposed to the more traditional squares and rectangles. Very cool!

Thanks! I'm not sure what I would do without this particular tile set, the smooth diagonal walls really help open up more design variety.
