Point of Interest: Magma Lemon

The first thing I carved actually. I wanted the fort to have a bit of a haphazard feel, (while still being a bit efficient) and I figured magmaworks was a priority for the dorfs.

I realized if I did anything else with the magma, my magmaworks would drain, so I channeled the brook to make a little impromptu cap on the input tube. - Chromie

Δ 15. Dirt Ew
I can't stand huge mined areas, and I can't stand huge soil layers. My workshops up here are pretty modular, and I put in the bauxite supports to give me something besides awful babycrap yellow dirt to look at.

I went with the old 2d "7x7 max" restriction and placed them (as well as collumns in my mining layers) at every 7 tiles. - Chromie

Luckily, small herds seem to continually filter in from the north and southwest.

I'm still training up my engraver... but I've carved the communal living and the dining hall out of a big magnetite deposit.
